There are three separate issues in onboarding.

1. Becoming a member
2. Getting physical access
3. Getting logical access

You mainly become a member by paying the membership dues. Technically. This part is governed by the bylaws. Which states “Alle som støtter foreningens formål og betaler medlemskontingent kan være medlem.”. Translates to anyone who supports the purpose of the organization and pays the membership dues can be a member.

This part is mandatory for the next two steps. Note there is no automation, and access are membership privileges that are granted and may be refused if needed.

The purpose of the organization is stated in the bylaws and that is the source that counts, but in english it roughly translates to:

• Provide a physical space that members and invited individuals can use to explore technology, create, learn, and collaborate.
• Be a politically independent and technology-neutral organization that promotes creativity and a culture of openness.
• Be an egalitarian organization where decisions are made by those willing to do the work.
• Be a non-profit organization. Any surplus shall be reinvested in accordance with the association’s purpose.

Agreeing to this purpose binds you as member to:

• Contribute actively
• Avoid political/ideological capture
• Share knowledge
• Accept do-ocracy over democracy
• Not seek personal financial gain

Before ordering your key you should have attended four or more open days at Hackeriet. You can then fill out this form to apply for a key. The board makes the decision if a key will be granted. If the board does not have enough basis for a decision, the board contacts the other members, where there is still no bases for a decision you must attend more open days.

There is a 700kr deposit for keys, deposit is paid by bank transfer to Hackeriets main account (see Money).

This is done in Hula admin by an admin. TODO to make a https://hackeriet.no/onboarding for users to register their data and a https://hackeriet.no/admin/onboarding for admins to approve.
