Enrolling a member access card

This guide is for giving a Hackeriet member door access using a member RFID card registered in Hula.

For temporary non-member cards, see Lending out temporary cards.

• Hula admin access
• the member already exists in Hula
• physical access to the safe and the door reader
• an RFID card from the safe
• a way to read the card number, either:
  • a phone with an RFID/NFC reader app
  • SSH access to bac-door1.hackeriet.no with permission to run sudo journalctl -u doord -f

1. Open the member in the Hula Django admin.
2. Get an RFID card from the safe.
3. Read the card number. A phone with an RFID/NFC reader app can read at least some of the cards directly. Hula expects the value as lowercase hexadecimal with a 0x prefix and no separators. For example, if the app shows F6:A8:15:39, enter 0xf6a81539 in Hula.
4. The card number can also be read from the door daemon log while presenting the card to the door reader:

1. Present the unregistered card to the door lock.
2. Look for the unregistered card log line and copy the card number from that line.
3. Put the card number into the Hula Django field named RFID access card number. (new):.
4. Save the user/member record.

Test the card on the door after saving the member record in Hula.
