===== Server room ===== The key to the server room is in the safe. Access also requires a physical Hausmania key. To turn on the light in the server room, connect the cable to the power strip to your right when you enter the room. ===== Documentation ===== The nitty-gritty technical details of the server room is documented in Hackeriet's IPAM/DCIM, https://ip.hackeriet.no Login through the Hackeriet Github organization. ===== KVM ===== We have a KVM switch which is mounted to the top of the left rack. Double-tap Scroll Lock to get to the KVM menu. You can find dongles in a red plastic box in the shelf. Make sure to set your nickname and machine name in the KVM when you set up a new dongle. Use regular network cables (Cat5e or Cat6). ===== Power ===== Powerfeeds are documented in Netbox. Both racks are plugged into one feed, XF04. The exception is core networking, which is plugged into XF03 and XF05 through hack-ats. A "Mickey-Mouse" cable is connected to the ATS on outlet 2-2, for use during server-room labbing. The plan for the future is to have each of the two racks on their dedicated feeds, with one common hot standby feed. Members are expected to configure their servers to **not** load balance power over the feeds, should they use two PSUs.
